Hungry in a world of plenty
Hunger is one of the most serious and complex problems of our time. According to the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization), it is possible to feed 12 billion people today. Nevertheless, one billion people worldwide suffer from chronic hunger. How can this be explained? What influence do subsidies in wealthy agricultural countries have? What role do speculators play on the stock market? To what extent does the political responsibility of the international community and that of each individual country go in combating hunger? And what responsibility do farmers in developing countries have? Do poor countries even have a chance for self-sufficiency?
"Hunger – enough is not enough" is a global quest for connections and solutions. And these are not far away at all.
